Visit the Exchange Hotel and Civil War Museum on Main Street to learn about Gordonsville’s role in the Civil War, or as some people call it, the “Late Unpleasantness.” During the summer of 1862, Major General Thomas (Stonewall) Jackson stayed for a few days at the old Gordon Tavern and attended the Presbyterian Church which still stands on Main Street. Nearby are the battlefields of Chancellorsville, the Wilderness, and Trevilians.

Lake Anna State Park offers fishing, camping, swimming and boating on the 13,000 acre lake.
